Find Your Way Back to Each Other

Couples therapy to strengthen communication, work through conflict, and build connection.

Understanding what is underneath the conflict

Conflict is often about more than the topic being argued about. Underneath anger, defensiveness, withdrawal, or reassurance-seeking may be feelings of hurt, fear, rejection, or not feeling understood.

Together, we can slow those patterns down and become curious about what each of you may be experiencing underneath the reaction.

What We Can Work On

Many couples come to therapy because they feel stuck in patterns they don’t know how to change. You may find yourselves having the same arguments, struggling to feel heard, or feeling disconnected despite caring deeply about each other.

Couples therapy may help with:

  • Communicating in ways that feel more productive and less reactive

  • Understanding recurring arguments and the patterns underneath them

  • Feeling more emotionally connected and supported

  • Expressing needs, concerns, and feelings more openly

  • Rebuilding trust and repairing hurt

  • Navigating boundaries, family stress, and life transitions

  • Moving through resentment or unresolved conflict

  • Creating more vulnerability, closeness, and partnership

  • Reconnecting when you feel more like roommates than a team

You may be seeking help with a longstanding difficulty or hoping to address concerns before they grow. We’ll talk about what each of you wants from therapy and identify goals for our work together.

Find Your Direction Together

Our first sessions will focus on learning about your relationship, what brings you in, and what each of you hopes will change. We’ll also discuss how couples sessions work, including privacy and communication expectations.

I’ll help make room for both perspectives, notice when conversations become unproductive, and support you in practicing different ways of communicating. We’ll pay attention to respect, accountability, and whether this approach is appropriate for your needs.

If you’re wondering whether working together would be a good fit, you’re welcome to reach out with questions about couples sessions and getting started.
